The “Widgets” section includes the basic content blocks used in creating pages and posts. There are nine of them and they are:
Shortcode, Archives, Calendar, Categories, Latest Comments, Latest Posts, RSS,

The first block here is the “Shortcode”. Normally you would write a shortcode which would be replaced by whatever it referred to on the screen, so you would not see the actual code. I have used an imaginary code above.

Next is the “Archives” block. This displays a monthly list of your posts and there are few options, just to display it as a menu and to add the total afterwards.

The “Calendar” block displays a calendar linking to your posts for the selected day. There are no options apart from alignment: it always shows the current month.

The “Categories” block gives you a list of your post categories. Like “Archives”, you can make it into a menu or add the counts afterwards.

The “Latest comments” block does as it says.
The “Latest Posts” block is shows links to the latest posts. There are many options including showing the date, the content, the featured image, etc.
The RSS feed
The “Search” block adds an area to allow people to search your website. This is often placed in sidebars or headers/footers.
“Social icons” allows you to add icons of the most common social media to your page. The icons only appear if they have a valid link.
