You can deactivate any blocks that you do not use to keep your block palette simple.
The “Button (improved)” block allows you to create a button with more options although you can only have one which is disappointing.
The “Countdown” block shows an animated countdown although there are no settings apart from the date.
The “Post Grid” displays posts (but not pages) in a grid or list.
